How it works

From choosing a food to remembering a meal

  1. Find a food

Explore the food library and look up age guidance, allergen information, and preparation tips.

  2. See how to serve it

Check serving guidance for your baby's stage, whether you offer finger foods, purées, or a mix of both.

  3. Keep a record

Log what you offered, how your baby responded, and any notes you want to remember. Look back as you introduce more foods.

Meal diary

A baby food diary you can look back on

Remember what your baby tried and how the meal went. Record foods, the date and time, your baby's response, and your own notes.

You can also record signs you noticed after a meal and review introduced foods and meals containing common allergens. These records help you keep observations together; they do not diagnose a food allergy.

Guides

Practical guides for starting solids

Explore topics such as readiness for solid foods, moving through textures, introducing allergens, and understanding mealtime hazards.

Keep the guides alongside your food library and diary, so you can return to a topic when a new question comes up.

Baby Plate provides general information and a place to record your observations. It does not replace advice from your child's healthcare professional.
